Cada Xip est\u00e0 format per cinc microcanals per augmentar la quantitat d&#8217;espermatozoides recuperats. Els microcanals i les dues cambres, la d&#8217;entrada i la de sortida, s&#8217;omplen amb medi de cultiu. El semen es diposita a la cambra d&#8217;origen i, mitja hora despr\u00e9s, es recuperen els espermatozous que hagin arribat a la cambra final.<\/p>\n<p>El disseny est\u00e0 pensat per evitar que els espermatozous anormals o amb mobilitat alterada arribin al final. Els espermatozoides amb alteracions aniran xocant amb les parets del microcanal i alentiran el seu moviment. Fragmentaci\u00f3 d&#8217;ADN de doble cadena (causa d&#8217;avortament), aquest m\u00e8tode de selecci\u00f3 ha demostrat ser el m\u00e9s efica\u00e7 a l&#8217;hora de reduir els espermatozous
